Announces The 2010/2011 Admission Screening Exercise
This is to inform the general public and particularly candidates seeking admission into the National Diploma (Morning) and Higher National Diploma (Morning) of the institution in the 2010/2011 academic year that the screening exercise has been scheduled as follows:
POST-JAMB SCREENING (ND MORNING)
The date for post JAMB screening exercise is as follows:
A. SCIENCES – Date: Friday 13th August, 2010
1) School of Engineering Technology
2) School of Environmental Design Technology
3) School of industrial and Applied Sciences
B. BUSINESS AND MASS COMMUNICATION – Date: Saturday 14th August 2010
1) School of Business and Management Technology
2) School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
NATURE OF SCREENING
The screening would comprise three objective papers, English language, Mathematics and General paper, The general paper for category (A) above will consist of questions in:
• Physics
• Chemistry
• Biology
• Agricultural Science
• Geography
The general paper for category (B) above will consist of questions in:
• Accounts
• Economics
• Commerce
• Government
• Biology
QUALIFICATION:
Only candidates who obtained a score of 180 and above in the 2010/2011 UTME examination conducted by JAMB and selected Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri as their first and/ or second choice polytechnic are qualified for the 2010 screening exercise. The dates for the HND Admissions screening are as follows:
HND SCIENCE
A. SCIENCES – DATE: Wednesday 11th August, 2010

B. HND BUSINESS AND SOCIAL SCIENCE - Date: Thursday 12th August, 2010

2) School of Humanities and Social Sciences
NATURE OF SCREENING:
The screening will consist of four objective papers for category (A) above and the papers include:
• Mathematics
• Physics
• Chemistry
• Introduction to Computer
• English Language
For category (B) above the paper will cover:
• Principles of Accounts
• Management
• Economics
• Introduction to Computer
• English Language
QUALIFICATION:
Only candidates who have already applied for HND admission in the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri in the 2010/2011 academic year are eligible. The Departments to be screened are as follows:

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SCREENING
• Candidates are required to come for the screening with the following items:
• HB Pencil
• Two coloured passport photograph with name of candidate, course of first choice and signature at the back.
• Two copies of computer printout of JAMB result slip (for post JAMB candidates only).
• Two copies of online HND registration computer printouts (for HND candidates only .
• Evidence of payment of prescribed fee.
METHOD OF APPLICATION
Payments for the screening exercise are made through E-transact in the designated banks in Owerri listed below at the cost of one thousand naira (N 1000.00) only.

CLOSING DATE
The closing date for payment for the screening exercise is Thursday 10th August, 2010. Applicants are required to complete their screening registration online at www.federalpolynekede.net
WARNING
The use of calculators, cell phones and unauthorized devices will not be allowed. Any candidate caught impersonating would face the wrath of the law. Parents, guardians and other members of the public, including students and staff of the institution who are not directly concerned with the conduct of the screening are warned to steer clear of the Examination halls and Environment in their own interest. The security outfit of the institution is by this notice required to watch out for possible defaulters.
